🔍 Why Does Image SEO Matter?
Image SEO isn’t just for ticking boxes – it plays a key role in how your content is discovered and understood. Proper metadata can:
- Make your site more accessible for screen readers and users with visual impairments
- Help search engines better understand and index your content
- Increase visibility in Google Images and drive extra traffic
- Add helpful context for both users and search crawlers
It’s quick to do, but the benefits can be long-lasting – especially when automated.
📦 What You’ll Get (Free Downloads)
Everything you need to get started is included – just select the links below.
- ✅ Make.com Scenario (pre-built automation flow)
- ✅ PHP Code Snippet (to use with WPCode)
- ✅ ChatGPT Assistant Prompt (to generate image metadata)
🛠️ What You’ll Need
- 🔹 A free Make.com account
- 🔹 WordPress site
- 🔹 WPCode plugin (or similar for inserting PHP snippets)
- 🔹 Access to ChatGPT assistants.
🔗 Webhook Setup
Inside Make.com, you’ll set up a webhook that listens for uploaded image data. This webhook is the trigger for your automation.
Once it’s created, just drop the Webhook URL into the PHP script included in the download. Every time you upload a PNG or JPEG to your WordPress Media Library, it’ll fire off the webhook and start the process.
🧠 How It Works
- You upload a PNG or JPEG to your Media Library
- The PHP snippet detects it and sends the image to your Make.com webhook
- Make.com passes the image to ChatGPT Vision
- ChatGPT writes the Alt Text, Caption, and Description using your chosen prompt
- The metadata is sent straight back to WordPress and added automatically
🔐 WPCode – Admin Area Only
Use WPCode to run the PHP snippet in the admin area only. This keeps your site secure and fast, since nothing extra is loading on the front end.
✍️ The Assistant Prompt
You’ll get the exact ChatGPT prompt we’re using to generate accurate, keyword-friendly metadata. You can tweak it to better match your niche, style, or SEO goals.
🖼️ The Importance of Image Titles
Your image filenames matter more than you might think. They give AI extra context to understand what the image is about. So ditch filenames like IMG_0001.jpg and go for something descriptive like sunset-over-lake.jpg. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference.
📝 Summary
This setup takes care of one of the most overlooked but important SEO tasks – and it does it for you automatically.
No more manual image edits. No more forgetting to add alt text. Just:
✅ Upload → 🧠 Generate Metadata → 📈 Better SEO.
